Most times, at a reception hall, it is the Matre’d who “runs” the show. The Matre’d is like a behind the scenes ringleader, and it is the Matre’d who organizes when the band plays, when the food is served and the band takes a break - the timimg of the courses, speaches, special events, etc. All of this can make or break the smooth flow of events which make a great wedding. The sad truth is that sometimes the Matre’d is unprepared, or overwhelmed. Brides are so concerned with many different aspects of the wedding, but how can you judge how good a Matre’d is? The truth is that many times it’s impossible to tell how well a Matre’d will run an event. The experience of a good band can compensate greatly in this area. The wedding band must be able to cover these situations, and never let the wedding guests know that there were any problems at all.
I suffer from adult attention deficit disorder, and let me tell you - it is not much fun to still be fidgetting and unable to pay attention at the age of 35.
