Autumn is one of the most appropriate times of the year to break loose and get away for a weekend, and Amsterdam is great for city breaks, even if you have kids. Yet, although the city is unknown for being particularly cheap – especially during recessionary times – it surely advantages from its close location and from offering such many things to attend to and see that it actually is quite easy to tailor your trip to the amount you can spend with only a tiny preparation.
