When you think of lesson plans for young children, the ABCs, reading and other such academic subject matter may first come to mind. Today, our society is success driven, in a competitive environment centered around achievement. Parents are often misled, thinking that they must start preparing a child for school long before kindergarten.
Perhaps there’s a need to return to old world methods of preparing children for school, allowing them to be the curious little beings they are, rather than forcing academia and achievement on them at too early an age. Pre-kindergarten early childhood lesson plans might well focus on more of the humanitarian aspects of life.
