A U.K. canal boat holiday is one of the most relaxing breaks you can find. The canal network was established in the 1700 as part of the industrial revolution. It was used to transport goods and raw materials around the country. It is an incredibly scenic way to see the countryside throughout England, Scotland and Wales. 

The boats themselves are now very comfortable and are equipped with many modern conveniences. If you would prefer to stay out the kitchen and to take a break from the washing up then you will find plenty of places to eat at the side of a canal or maybe slightly further a field.
