Black Tea For A Better Oral Health
Research showed that drinking tea may be one good way in keeping your teeth and gums healthy. Compounds found in black tea are proven to be effective in fighting bacteria in the mouth that cause gum and tooth diseases. However drinking herbal tea may be harmful and can damage the teeth by eroding enamel there is a high content of acidity found in herbal teas even higher than orange juice.
Compounds in black tea can stop the growth and acid production of cavity- causing bacteria in dental plaque and it also affects enzymes that are responsible in converting sugar into the stick material that plaque uses to adhere to teeth. In addition black tea also contans fluoride that helps in protecting the teeth.White tea may also be use a mouthwash although it may be more costly for white tea has been proven to be better and effective than black tea in promoting good oral health.
A good oral health may be achieved with proper hygiene such as brushing and flossing and also with proper food and nutrition.
