When you sign up to be a foster parent, you are doing something that can make a huge difference in the life of a child, and possibly their siblings as well. Though there are some children that only have to go into the foster system for a short while, there are some that are going to stay in it until they are old enough to go out on their own. When you take on this role, you are going to make them who they are going to be. If you can, or if mandated by your state, you should find some foster parent training to get you started.
