NFSPS Poetry Competitions for Poetry Scholarships
Poetry scholarships can be won from the NFSPS Poetry Competitions. NFSPS has 50 such poetry competitions which you can apply for. Who is NFSPS? Its The National Federation of State Poetry Societies started in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, October 17, 1959, by Mary B. Wall. She organized this poetry club after she talked with many outstanding poets throughout the world and the consensus was there was a definite need for a National Poetry Society. The main purposes of the National Federation of State Poetry Societies are totally educational and literary. In the spring of each year the NFSPS holds their poetry contest for scholarships. Everyone is encouraged to enter the poetry competitions with so many chances to win. Hidden talent can be identified through these poem contest and new poets are discovered who go to college to refine their talents. It’s a great opportunity which can help pay college cost, and gain recognition at the same time.
