Stomach Ulcer Symptoms

When you have a stomach ulcer you want to know how to deal with it. Before any treatment can be carried out you will need to know what the stomach ulcer symptoms are. These may seem to be the same as other ulcer symptoms but as there are some differences you should not make a decision about any treatments by yourself.

The major symptom of a stomach ulcer is a burning or gnawing feeling in the stomach area. This burning sensation can last between 30 minutes to 3 hours. This pain is often interpreted as heartburn, indigestion or even hunger. The pain is usually found to occur in the upper abdomen area, but sometimes it may occur just below the breastbone.

In some individuals the stomach ulcer pain occurs immediately after eating.
