Ventilate Using Cold Air Return Vents

A few years I ago bought and moved into a small maisonette that I later rented out. When I first moved in, this home was in desperate need of a little TLC on the home improvements front.  It was literally riddled with mildew and the mildew spores where evident in the air throughout the entire building. Everything had to go or be treated. Carpets were ripped up and dumped, most curtains were slung out apart from one quality pair which was cleaned professionally and treated accordingly. Sofas and chairs stunk to hi heaven, and many of the window and lower door frames had rotted so much that they had to be replaced. Now, it was no good doing all this work jus to treat the kill the fungus and then restock with new furniture and products. If we did this, the mildew would come back – guaranteed. The reason there was such a problem with mildew was because the building was suffocating and condensation was not only forming but had no way of drying out. The thoughtful positioning of Cold Air Return Vents placed in strategic locations around the lower walls made sure that this potentially hazardous problem to health never returned again. Who would have thought the solution to a major problem was cured by shopping for and installing a few low cost plastic vents.
