Causes Of Infertility in Men and Women
Many people both men and women suffer from infertility. So what exactly is infertility? It is the inability for a couple to conceive a baby within a twelve month period. It is also a problem that is shared between a couple and one that needs to be dealt with by both individuals. There are many different causes of infertility in men and women that can be the reason you are not able to conceive a child.
There are several causes of infertility in men. It could be due to a childhood illness, infections, genetics or some type of injury. Exposure to radiation or any form of hazardous material can also cause infertility in a man. The most common reason is having a low sperm count. This can also be contributed to many different reasons. Some are temporary and are due to taking medications, being sick or being under an extreme amount of stress. When these conditions change so will the sperm count and the problem may be solved. A man that drinks a lot of alcohol takes drugs or smokes a lot may also have a low sperm count. These can be controlled by changing your lifestyle. Simpler reasons can even include wearing pants that are two tight and the use of hot tubs and sauna. Some conditions that cause a low sperm count that can not be changed include the condition variocele and having sperm that is of an abnormal shape.
There are as many causes of infertility in women as there are in men. The most common condition is when a woman has problems ovulating. There are several factors that can cause this. One is the age of a women, once a women reaches her thirties ovulation begins to slow down. The best time for ovulation is when a woman is in her late teenage years and early twenties. Problems with ovulation can also be caused by stress and being overworked. Medical conditions and infections that can cause cervical problems are causes of infertility in women as well. If a woman suffers from tubal and pelvic conditions such as scared or blocked fallopian tubes, scar tissue or conditions like fibroids these can also be causes of infertility. Uterine issues can create problems as well. Keep in mind that more than one problem can exist at one time.
If you are having a problem with infertility in your life the first thing you want to do is find out why. Every now and then infertility cannot be explained, but most of the time it can. Many times it can also be corrected by simply making lifestyle changes. Other times your doctor can work with you to help correct the problem. The important thing is that you seek help to find out if your infertility problems can be corrected.
